About Elizabeth and Bruce
Bruce Bell and Elizabeth Andes-Bell are the creative directors of
Namaste Yoga Center. They are yogis, energy therapists and spiritual
teachers who have been collaborating for 25 years. They began their
collaboration as dancers and choreographers under the tutelage of their
mentor, Calvin Holt. This led them to the exploration of impulse and
energy vectors as a source for movement and form. Calvin also introduced
them to the teachings of the Vedanta, the Gnostics, the Greek
Classicists and more.
Bruce and Elizabeth received formal training in energy healing at
the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, a four-year intensive study of
the chakras, the human energy field and somatic/energetic psychology.
After graduation, they taught at the school for 7 years. They trained
students and teachers in energetic anatomy and the evolution of cellular
consciousness. As founding department heads at the school's Department
of Creative Arts, they developed a curriculum exploring the relationship
of healing and creativity. They completed their healership training at
the Center for Intentional Living's program in developmental and depth
psychology with an emphasis in transpersonal studies.
Elizabeth and Bruce have studied Hatha, Vinyasa, Astanga, Iyengar
and Raja yoga, Continuum and Laban-Bartinieff movement fundamentals.
Their teachers have included Richard Freeman, Nevine Michaan, Gary
Kraftsow, Emilee Conrad and others. They are especially grateful for the
spiritual teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
They maintain private practices in energy healing and co-teach
workshops, retreats and teacher's classes. Elizabeth also teaches yoga
and has a private yoga therapy practice.
